Bennu Salon was born from a passion for elevating the craft of hair. Founded in 2026 by Hans and Caitlyn Van Doornik in Holland, Michigan, it is a space where editorial expertise, color mastery, and a shared vision for what a salon can be come together.

Hans' journey began in the bustling streets of New York City, where he apprenticed under some of the industry's top hairdressers. Working alongside them, he graced runways and fashion campaigns for renowned names in the industry, including Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Rick Owens, Tom Ford, Khaite, and Naeem Khan. Honing his skills and gaining invaluable insights into the world of hair styling.
Eager to expand his repertoire, Hans moved to Los Angeles and became the apprentice of celebrity hair stylist Teddy Charles. There, he sharpened his editorial skills and worked on countless photoshoots with A-list celebrities, including Kendall Jenner, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Gal Gadot, Jane Fonda, Cindy Crawford, and Fergie, among many others.
Hans' talents took him further as he contributed to the Emmy Award-winning HBO show Westworld, where he cut and styled the hair of actresses Evan Rachel Wood, Tessa Thompson, and Katja Herbers. He also made his mark at the renowned Kim Vo Salon in Beverly Hills, providing exceptional service to clients seeking the epitome of hairstyling excellence.
We embrace the notion that hair professionals are not just technicians but artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs. Hans Van Doornik, a West Michigan native with an insatiable love for hair and fashion, brings his extensive experience and expertise back home to Holland, Michigan.

A Chicago-trained color specialist with a refined eye and a deep appreciation for her craft, Caitlyn met Hans in 2019 and found a shared standard for what great work demands. Together, they returned to Holland, Michigan, and established Palette Cosmetology Academy, a contemporary approach to hair education built to shape the next generation of talent.
