Bennu Salon was born from a passion for elevating the craft of hair. Founded in 2026 by Hans and Caitlyn Van Doornik in Holland, Michigan, it is a space where editorial expertise, color mastery, and a shared vision for what a salon can be come together.

Hans began his career in New York City, apprenticing under top hairdressers and working Fashion Week campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Rick Owens, Tom Ford, Khaite, and Naeem Khan. He later moved to Los Angeles, where he worked alongside celebrity stylist Teddy Charles on shoots with Kendall Jenner, Miley Cyrus, Gal Gadot, Jane Fonda, and Cindy Crawford.

A Chicago-trained color specialist with a refined eye and a deep appreciation for her craft, Caitlyn met Hans in 2019 and found a shared standard for what great work demands. Together, they returned to Holland, Michigan, and established Palette Cosmetology Academy, a contemporary approach to hair education built to shape the next generation of talent.

THE BEGINNING

PALETTE COSMETOLOGY ACADEMY
Hans and Caitlyn return to Holland, Michigan, and establish Palette Cosmetology Academy, a contemporary, advanced approach to hair education for the next generation.
